Salon robbed; police seek information

Published: Monday, October 6, 2008 1:53 PM CDT
The Colony Police Department is seeking help from anyone who may have information about a robbery that occurred at Sally’s Beauty Supply in the 4700 block of State Highway 121 on Saturday morning.

According to a statement, two black males entered Sally's Beauty Supply at around 11:15 a.m. One pretended to shop, while the other exited the business and waited just outside the store.

When other customers made their purchases, the suspect in the store approached the register to buy a product. The employee had to go to the office in the back of the store to complete the purchase, while the subject was waiting at the counter.

The man then surprised the employee and forced the employee down on the floor and took an undisclosed amount of money from the office safe. The employee was threatened, but no weapon was displayed. The subject then ran out of the store.

Both black male subjects fled in an unknown direction, according to the statement. It is not known if the subjects fled in a vehicle or on foot. The employee suffered minor injuries.

The black male subject that committed the robbery was described as 6 feet tall, athletic build, mid 20s, and with a very dark complexion. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood, black sweat pants, and wore dark sunglasses throughout the incident.

The second black male subject is believed to be involved in the robbery by acting as a "lookout.” He was described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, also in his mid 20s, and had a slender build. He was also wearing a black jacket with a hood and black sweat pants. He also wore a red baseball cap. He did not wear any sunglasses.

Both subjects wore their hoods on their heads throughout the incident in an attempt to hide their faces.

The police department is following up on leads, but would like for anyone with any information about this incident to call the police department at 972-625-1887.
