Council approves items that could allow central wastewater site
By Chris Roark, roarkc@acnpapers.com
Nearly seven hours after Thursday’s special meeting began, the Flower Mound Town Council approved two items that could allow a centralized wastewater collection facility.
The council voted 3-2 to amend its oil and gas pipeline standards and also voted 3-2 to amend development use regulations.
Council members Al Filidoro and Tom Hayden voted against both motions.
The vote would allow a gas company to request a specific use permit (SUP) for a centralized wastewater collection facility, which would be subject to various requirements dealing with setbacks, esthetics and other components. The facility could only be located in agricultural-zoned districts, though the pipelines could run anywhere.
